Simple Recycling provides residents with a free, convenient way to dispose of unwanted clothing and other goods and protect the environment.Īlthough collection was suspended during the pandemic. Full List of Acceptable Curbside Recycling Itemsįree Home pickup of reusable clothing, shoes household goods has resumed for residents of Shelby Township.When placing recyclables in smaller, 18-gallon bins, please place all items in a clear plastic bag for the collectors to grab and toss on top of the truck. ![]() When placing recyclables in the bigger 95-gallon bins, please do not use plastic bags. Unfortunately, styrofoam cannot be set out for collection at this time. Large corrugated cardboard should be flattened to 2’x 2’ or smaller prior to collection. ![]() Recyclables are collected by a separate vehicle and should be placed separate from your household solid waste, bulky waste and yard waste.Ĭommon recyclable products include: Clean food and beverage cans, glass bottles and jars, cardboard, paper bags, magazines and catalogs, junk mail, office paper, phone books, newspapers, glossy ads and household plastic (#1-#7). This allows residents to increase the amount of recyclables they can store each week, eliminate the necessity of multiple 18 gallon recycling bins, and should make it very easy to roll out for collection and processing.ĩ5-gallon recycling carts are required as part of the curbside recycling program. ![]() In a continuing effort to provide convenience, expand the recycling program, and divert recyclables from solid waste disposal sites, the township has supplied each resident with a 95-gallon wheeled cart to store recyclables during the week until collection day. ![]()
